      <image:title>Projects - UTOPS (Financial District), Photo Shoot</image:title>
<image:caption>  For our project UTOPS (Utopian Transformation of Public Spaces), we took on the persona of an urban planning firm performing a charrette at Dolores Park about a possible utopian redevelopment of San Francisco's Financial District. During this community brainstorming session, we invited participants to answer questionnaires, contribute to a communal clay model, and/or draw on a communal plan of the area, telling us what they want and need from the Financial District.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - The Capitalist Bathroom Experience</image:title>
<image:caption>Created for the Museum of Capitalism, we re-contextualized the bathroom as a "fully-functional recreation of a bathroom from the Capitalist Era." Visitors were encouraged to take a publication called "The Capitalist Bathroom Experience" into the bathroom with them to read. The zine's text consisted of a few articles about the history of capitalism's interaction with the bathroom.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - Class War Store (2011)</image:title>
<image:caption>In this version of Class War Store at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, we envisioned the store as a newsstand, based on the periptero of Greece, focal points of local political debate. With the Occupy movement in full swing, we created a participatory cardboard sign-making clothesline where participants could create signs, a la Occupy Oakland. Our original intention was to mirror the signs between the newsstand and the clothesline at the Occupy Oakland camp, but the brutal destruction of the camp during the exhibition made this project impossible.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - Ask a... (2012)</image:title>
<image:caption>For "Ask a..." we sent up a tent at Oakland's popular First Friday Art Murmur/street party and let people ask us questions. The tent had two windows on two of the sides, and one person sat at each window, representing a different aspect of their identity, from Arab and Black Woman, to artist and Catholic. Each "answerer" was encouraged to answer each question as honestly and spontaneously as they could, and to correct assumptions or challenge the "asker." People on the street could volunteer to answer questions from within the tent, or simply ask a question of one or more of the "answerers."</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - The Conspiracy Chalkboard (2011)</image:title>
<image:caption>In this participatory piece performed at the opening of Proof at Southern Exposure, we created improvisational conspiracy theories on a chalkboard using audience suggestions. Theories ranged from angry to funny, and sometimes disturbing or offensive. In this picture, Francois Hughes creates a conspiracy theory about the Bermuda Triangle.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This month, we created an egg game asking people about their utopias/dystopias. Participants wrote on a slip of paper that they then enclosed in an egg and hid somewhere. In this picture, Celeste Christie explains the egg game to participants.</image:caption>
